A little bit about me. I’m a native Chicagoan with over 15 years of counseling experience working both as an urban pastor and a full-time clinician in private practice. I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition, I earned my Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, my Master of Counseling degree from Westminster Theological Seminary, and my Advanced Counseling Certificate from the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF). I also completed a one-year onsite internship at CCEF under the supervision of Dr. Timothy Lane. I am the author of two books— Sipping Saltwater: How to Find Lasting Satisfaction in a World of Thirst and Marriage Conflict: Talking as Teammates— and serve as a regular article contributor for The Gospel Coalition and the Biblical Counseling Coalition. Besides counseling, my passions include special needs ministry, homeless outreach, writing, running, Chicago White Sox baseball, Notre Dame football, and anything related to ice cream.
